Big Brother Bubbles [UK 10]

Big Brother, Sims3 and Your Genius!

A change in plans

It’s now day 5 of this experiment and here is what I have discovered about making a Sim3 reality show:

- That locking up members of the household in a sealed up house is fine as long as there is a fridge, toilet, bed shower/bath. However, if one has built additional living quarters outside of the house (as was this case, since Davina was living in the blue trailers outside) and they happen to have better quality furniture and provisions (as was the case since I wanted to make Davina’s quarters very luxurious), the sealed up people will be incapable of doing much else than fretting as they try to gain access to the better stuff, but are unable to. They just end up stomping their feet, completely ignorant of the fact that there is a bath/fridge/bed right beside them. So, I had to sell off all of Davina’s luxury items and just give her the most basic bed, shower and WC, completely deleting a fridge and putting her to work instead, where she could live on her work meals. This remedied the situation immediately and the housemates no longer long to go out of the house. Remember that someone still has to be out of the house to pay the bills, so I do have Davina as part of the household for this purpose.

- Locking up non-members of the household in a sealed house was a bad, bad idea. Although some were “rude” enough to eat food, go to the bathroom and rest on the beds, most weren’t – resulting in the “guest” housemates to wet themselves and eventually starve to death. When Sree was the first one to die on day 5, I knew I had to do something about this 8-member limit household. Thus with a little googling, discovered that there is a hack mod called Awesomemod which will allow you to add more than 8 to a household. (use at your own risk!) And did it work? Yes it did! The only down side is that the UI still only displays 8 portrait thumbnails at a time, but you can alternatively select housemates by right clicking on them. Good enough for me!
